Members of the AI Compile Research Group from the Faculty of Science, University of Split, actively participated in this year’s e-University 4.0 – New Ideas, New World conference, held in Rovinj from November 5 to 7, 2025, under the umbrella of THECUC.
The event brought together leading experts, IT professionals, and representatives of the academic community to exchange ideas, discuss the challenges of digital transformation, and showcase innovative technologies shaping the future of higher education.
The conference featured two sessions under the theme “AI Application and Development”, focusing on research and implementation of artificial intelligence in education.
The morning session, chaired by Prof. Saša Mladenović, Ph.D. (Program Committee member, Faculty of Science, University of Split), included the following presentations by AI Compile researchers:

The session also included Prof. Anita Gudelj (Faculty of Maritime Studies, University of Split) with the presentation “AI in Maritime Education: Personalized Learning and Automated Feedback from Simulator Data.”
The afternoon session, chaired by Marijana Pezelj (CARNET), continued the discussion on AI-driven transformation in education.
In this session, Boško Lišnić, M.Sc., member of the AI Compile Research Group, presented his paper “LLMs in Education: Developing AI Literacy for Future Teachers,” highlighting the importance of large language models in building AI literacy and critical thinking among pre-service teachers.
Through these presentations, AI Compile members showcased the results of recent research and outreach activities, emphasizing responsible, explainable, and human-centered AI as key principles shaping the future of higher education.
