Members of the AITECH research team participated in the 3rd EDIT Conference – Development of Digital Skills, held at the Faculty of Science, University of Split, as part of the Digital Dalmatia initiative organised by Split-Dalmatia County. The conference gathered more than 200 students, teachers, mentors, and experts from across Dalmatia and focused on digital education, artificial intelligence, and responsible use of emerging technologies.

This year’s conference programme placed particular emphasis on artificial intelligence in education and the growing importance of critical thinking in the era of widely accessible AI tools. Through lectures, workshops, and presentations of student projects, participants discussed both the opportunities and challenges that artificial intelligence brings to education and society.
AITECH team members Saša Mladenović, Divna Krpan, and Goran Zaharija contributed to the conference through mentoring activities, presentation of student projects, educational workshops, and support for activities related to programming, digital literacy, and AI education. Their involvement in the EDIT programme spans nine consecutive years and includes continuous cooperation with schools, teachers, and the wider educational community.

The topics presented during the conference are closely aligned with several broader objectives of the AITECH project, particularly in the areas of:
Participation in events such as EDIT contributes to the dissemination of knowledge and exchange of experiences between schools, universities, mentors, and technology-oriented initiatives while supporting long-term development of digital competencies among younger generations.
