On January 16, 2026, an AI-focused educational workshop was organized for second-grade students at Primary School Spinut as part of the AITECH project’s science outreach activities.
The activity was carried out within the framework of the project “Artificial Intelligence for Future Technical Education and Industrial Competitiveness (AITECH), IP-UNIST-48”, in line with its mission to promote early STEM education and responsible understanding of artificial intelligence.
During the workshop, students were introduced to the basic concepts of artificial intelligence and its applications in education. Through a live demonstration using the NAO humanoid robot, they explored what AI systems are—and what they are not. The session also addressed the advantages and limitations of AI technologies, encouraging students to think critically about whether machines can truly be considered intelligent.
In addition to the interactive activities, students completed simple questionnaires before and after the workshop. This approach enabled the project team to assess potential changes in students’ attitudes toward artificial intelligence, contributing to the research and evaluation component of the AITECH project.
The workshop was delivered by members of the project team from the Faculty of Science, University of Split: Antonela Prnjak Gadža, Dino Nejašmić, and Saša Mladenović.
