March 10, 2026
On March 10, 2026, another group of future scientists visited the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at the Department of Informatics. The participants were children from the “Bistrići” gifted programme of DV Cvit Mediterana.
The activity was organized within the framework of the project “Artificial Intelligence for Future Technical Education and Industrial Competitiveness (AITECH), IP-UNIST-48”, as part of its science outreach and early STEM engagement efforts.
During the visit, the children explored how interaction with intelligent robots is achieved and gained insight into both the possibilities and limitations of artificial intelligence. In addition, the “Bistrići” participants had the opportunity to learn the basics of programming without using computers—relying instead on logical thinking, their own reasoning, and specially designed didactic materials.
The workshop was led by Goran Zaharija and Divna Krpan, who are активно engaged in science popularization and research in the field of applied artificial intelligence. Through hands-on activities and guided interaction, the children were introduced to key concepts of AI and computational thinking in an accessible and engaging way.
