On 20 February 2026, the Faculty of Science in Split hosted a science outreach workshop for fifth-grade students from Meje Primary School and Lokve-Gripe Primary School in Split.
The activity introduced students to basic ideas related to artificial intelligence through discussion and simple examples adapted to their age. During the two-hour session, students explored questions such as where artificial intelligence appears in everyday life, how digital technologies influence cities, and whether AI could support tasks such as planning space missions.
The workshop was delivered by Dino Nejašmić, Antonela Prnjak and Saša Mladenović from the Faculty of Science in Split. Around fifteen students participated.
The event formed part of local outreach activities connected with the Science Comes to Town initiative and aimed to bring science and technology closer to younger students through direct interaction with researchers.
This activity was supported by the project “Artificial Intelligence for Future Technical Education and Industrial Competitiveness (AITECH), IP-UNIST-48”, funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan 2021–2026.
